ACCOMMODATION:

The College now has boarding facilities for male students wishing to reside on-campus. Students are required to occupy the rooms allocated to them and be responsible for the safe-keeping of furniture and fittings in such rooms. Beds, Mattresses, Pillows and other property issued to the students must be put into proper use for which they are meant. The College reserves the right to withdraw any student without notice. Students should know that hostel accommodation is a privilege, not a right.

HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION RULES AND REGULATIONS

a. At present, there is one hall of residence, which is referred to as Male Students Hostel. The Hall Administrator, assisted by supporting staff in the division, is responsible for registering students into the hostel, issuing of exit and clearance forms, and attending to complaints pertaining to accommodation.

b. There is a Common Room attached to each hall, which will cater for students recreation needs.

c. At present, only male students will be accommodated on campus

d. Available accommodation is allocated to students on first come, first served basis.

RESIDENCE DURING VACATION

All students must leave the Hostel during vacation. Students who may be required to stay on campus, as part of the academic program, will be charged appropriate lodging fees. Students, who on their won, may wish to stay on campus during vacation will be charged every day per room.

HOSTEL REGULATIONS FOR ALL STUDENTS

The following hostel rules and regulations are binding on all students residing on the campus. In the interest of health, safety and co-existence, strict compliance will also help to reduce the cost of maintenance/repairs in the hostel.

i. ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND GOOD HEALTH HABITS

a. Students are advised to discard all rubbish neatly without littering them all over the places.

b. Brushing teeth on the corridor is strictly prohibited. Students are advised to use the wash-hand basins in the bathrooms.

c. Students should make use of laundry rooms for all washing.

d. All toilet facilities in the hostel must be used in decent and mature manner. Sanitary towels should be dumped into the plastic buckets with cover provided.

e. Ordinary papers will block the toilets and as such they should not be used.

f. Physical fighting/quarrelling is strictly prohibited.

g. There should be no smoking or drinking of alcohol and any intoxicants.

h. Use of dangerous weapons/drugs is strictly prohibited.

i. No student under the influence of intoxicant should be allowed entry.

j. No lecture chair should be carried into the hostel.

k. There should be no gambling in the hostel.

ii. SUBLETTING/TRANSFER/EXCHANGE OF ROOMS:

a. Each student must occupy the room allocated to him and will be responsible for the care of furniture and fittings in the room.

b. No student is allowed to sublet the room allocated to him.

c. No student is allowed to exchange or transfer allocated rooms without the permission of the Hall Administrator.

iii. COOKING IN THE HOSTEL

a. Cooking in the hostel rooms or corridors is not allowed.

iv. THE USE OF COMMON ROOMS

a. All male students, whether on campus or off campus, are allowed to use common rooms, provided that the facilities in the said rooms are handled with care. No item should be removed from the common rooms, except with a written permission from the Hall Administrator.

v. VISITORS

a. Visiting of male hostel by their female students is strictly prohibited.

b. Male students may receive (parents, brothers, sisters, and relatives). Female visitors should wait at the potter's room, while males should be taken to respective common rooms.

c. Male students may receive visitors from outside the College between 8.00am to 7.00pm.

d. All females are not allowed entry into the male students’ hostel, whether or not they are related to the student by blood or otherwise.

e. All vehicles should be parked outside the hostel in the parking lots provided.

f. Students will be responsible for the conduct of their visitors.

g. Students who breach any rules governing their stay in the hostel may be ejected without refund of the accommodation fee paid.

h. Any female student who violates the rule in (C) or (D) above will be suspended for one semester, after due process.

vi. STUDENT HOSTEL REPRESENTATIVES:

Students' hostel representatives are to be elected by occupants and their functions should be to:

a. Identify and report repairs that need the attention of the College to the Hall Administrator, through the hostel supervisor.

b. Report all emergency cases of illness directly to the College Clinic.

c. Ensure that individual students adhere to the College's rules and regulations by educating, enlightening and encouraging them.

d. Settle minor disputes between and among students, as well as report major disputes to the Deputy Registrar (Students Affairs).

e. Organize periodic sanitary exercise in the hostel.

f. Work hand-in-hand with the hostel care-takers.

STUDENTS IDENTIFICATION AND SECURITY

A student is advised to carry his identification card always for possible identification by any authorized person. Students are also advised to declare their valuables at the gate for security identification.

NOTE --- HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION SERVICES WILL BE MADE CLEAR AT RESUMPTION
